ELJER INTRODUCES THE NEWPORT 17” SPACESAVER TOILET

DALLAS, TX, August 21, 2003 –  Eljer proudly introduces the Newport 17” Space-Saver One-Piece Toilet.  The Newport is patterned after the Canterbury One-Piece Toilet, Eljer’s best selling one-piece toilet ever and complements both the Tennison and Canterbury Collection of fixtures.

The Newport 17” Space-Saver One-Piece Toilet (Model No. 081-1675) was engineered specifically with features in mind.  The 16-1/8” rim height is taller than a standard height toilet, which provides comfort and ease of use.  It fully complies with the American with Disabilities Act.  Even with the elevated rim height, the Newport features one of the shortest floor-to-top-of-tank measurements (26-1/4”) of any one-piece toilet in its’ class.  A bonus feature when designers or homeowners are using a banjo style countertop above the toilet tank.

The Newport receives the “Space-Saver” designation because the elongated bowl has a wall-to-front-of-rim length is 28-1/2”, which is the same space traditionally used by plain-rim toilets.  This means a more comfortable elongated bowl that takes up less room, a designers dream!

The Newport features Eljer’s E-Force Gravity Flushing System and includes a 2” trap size, a color matched premium plastic seat, a chlorine-resistant flapper and a 7-1/2” x 8-1/2” water surface area.  It is initially be available in white, biscuit and natural.
