            DALLAS, TX – April 21, 2006 – Whirlpool tubs are increasingly becoming the standard in many homes.  Eljer, Inc. displays its new Savannah whirlpools – designed for maximum comfort, peak performance and increased hygiene – at the 2006 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (Booth #3212).

            Available in whirlpool or soaker tub styles, and in oval or standard shapes, Savannah is fashioned to coordinate with the company's popular Savannah toilet, pedestal and drop-in lavatories.  The sculpted edges of the collection coordinate with bathroom designs ranging from classic to contemporary. 

Comfort is King

            Savannah whirlpools offer customized comfort and are available with six or eight jets that can be upgraded to feature a unique spiral action flow for a soothing effect.  In addition to the whirlpool jets, a specialized Soft Air™ Bubbler System can be included on its own or in combination with the whirlpool jets. 

The Soft Air Bubbler System consists of 16 air jets located at the bottom of the tub.  The bubbler gently releases tiny bubbles that float softly by the bather and provide a uniquely relaxing bathing experience.

And, the hygienic after-use drying cycle reduces the risk of bacteria build-up in the pipes.

The Captive Heat System™ further enhances comfort by keeping bath water from cooling during bath time.  Unlike traditional in-line heaters, this system uses no electricity because it uses the heat generated by the whirlpool motor to keep the water warm as it passes through the system.  This also minimizes maintenance requirements. 

Tech Specs

            Both six- and eight-jet Savannah models include a patented Safety Suction Valve designed to release the suction when objects such as a washcloth or hair entrapment block the intake.  Once the object is removed, the pump will restart again. 

            Each Savannah tub is pre-leveled to simplify installation.  The new Savannah whirlpool and bath are available with and without a deck for drop-in or tile-in installations.

            A 1-inch low density two-part Iso-foam backing on the underside of the tub helps stabilize and balance the tub.  And, color-matched trim can be upgraded and customized to metallic trim by the end-user.  Optional metallic trim offering includes chrome, polished brass, brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze and an optional multi-color underwater light package adds ambience in the bath. 

            Savannah six-jet models feature a ¾ HP motor that pumps 72 gallons of water per minute while the eight-jet tubs offer an upgraded 1 HP motor to accommodate an increased volume of water.  Right and left air controls and two lumbar jets also add functionality to the eight-jet model.  Savannah whirlpool baths are available in White, Natural/ Bone, Biscuit and Onyx.
